As part of their eleventh Artist Collection, this was bottled.
This Chichibu single malt was bottled in 2020 from a bourbon barrel.
The Chichibu distillery in Saitama, Japan, opened in 2008 and was the first of its kind in the country. Since Suntory opened Hakushu in 1973, this is the country’s first new distillery. Ichiro Akuto, grandson of the creator of the famed Hanyu distillery, came up with the idea for Chichibu. The Ichiro’s Malt brand debuted in 2005 and gained to prominence thanks to the bottling of Hanyu’s final barrels, particularly the coveted ‘Card’ series. In 2011, the first Chichibu releases were released under it.
